We are excited about the commencement of the practice refurbishment but unfortunately this means the clinic will be closed from the 9th December for approximately one week. We are re-opening again on the 19th December and we will be open through the non- public holidays over Christmas and the New Year.
The refurbishment will is aiming to make the current space more usable yet more private when it needs to be. We will be re-opening the onsite gym along with adding a new biomechanics lab specifically designed for running analysis. This analysis centre provides dual video feedback along with syncronised forceplate and EMG information for speeds of running up to 24kmph. It allows us to analyse the effects of different techniques of running on variables such as contact times, ground reaction forces, stride length as well as many other useful sets of data. We can even compare the effects of running shoes, orthotics and the barefoot running technique on those same variable. This data can be used to objectively work out what types of shoes are most suitable (minimalist vs traditional) as well as refine running technique to maximise running speed and economy.
The reception area also is being redesigned and we are replacing the lighting with new energy efficient globes. Overall we feel that the fittout will benefit patients in many ways but we do apologise for being closed for the week. The phones are being diverted to the our mobiles so if there are any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We also thank the physiotherapists at Narrabeen Sports Medicine centre for helping our patients that need treatment during this time.
